| RELIABILITY AND QUALITY RATING: |

Superficially, the 1007 appears to be of good quality. The build and detailing are fine, with tight panel gaps, a classy feel to the switchgear and interior materials that are generally okay for this price level. There are a few exceptions: the rear parcel shelf and its supports are notably cheap in feel, higher-spec cars get an attractive colour LCD display at the base of the windscreen but basic models get a cheap-looking unit; while brighter coloured dash-top mats reflect badly in the windscreen in bright sunlight (though these can be removed).
Actual quality and reliability are hard to gauge just yet, but as a rule, it's worth noting that Peugeots don't often perform well in reliability and customer satisfaction surveys, so the jury will remain out on this for a while. For the record, save for one early investigative recall, we've heard of few problems with the electric sliding rear doors on Peugeot's 807 MPV, or its Fiat Ulysse/Citroen C8 sister models, which have already sold in large numbers, so we don't have too many reservations about the 1007's doors, which operate manually should the electrics fail.
