    RUNNING COSTS RATING:

Insurance groupings are low for a cabriolet and even the 1.6 is economical, returning 42.2mpg. This model emits 160g/km of carbon dioxide, ensuring an average tax banding. The 1.4's hardly any more efficient, though, doing 42.8mpg and 158g/km.

Nissan dealers charge reasonable rates for servicing and parts (they generally come out well in customer satisfaction surveys) and so the Micra C+C should prove to be a cost-effective car to run.

The only question mark is residual (resale) value; it's not likely to hold its value, and be as sought-after on the second-hand market, as the ever-desirable Mini cabriolet, for example. Or the rare Figaro, for that matter.
