A four-star NCAP crash result was a fine result for Nissan, putting it at the top of its class at the time, though newer MPVs have got the full five stars. The structure is strong, and side impact protection is impressive, thanks to standard side airbags on most models, and full three-point seatbelts for all. Security's OK too - there's remote central locking, and plenty of cubbies to hide valuables in. You'll probably forget where they are yourself, so thieves stand no chance of locating them.
