The high-set driving position means that, although it's wider than the Almera, it's no harder to position. And, as the Almera is as foolproof as any Nissan, there's little to intimidate in other areas, either. Gearchange and clutch are light, the CVT auto is at least simple, and only that lack of performance may make things tricky, particularly if you're driving through undulating country when fully-laden. The Almera hatch is pretty good fun to drive, and although it's a tall MPV, the Tino does a reasonable job of replicating this. Sure, there's more body roll due to the higher, harder-to-control mass, but it's still fairly sharp, with decent steering, if lacking ultimate 'feel'. The engines may well frustrate though, given their lack of power, while it's also a little dull to drive when you're not pressing on hard. Smooth enough, but a little soulless, even though the very funky interior, complete with 'watch-style' instruments, puts you in a happy frame of mind.
