| COMFORT AND EQUIPMENT RATING: |
 |
Firm seats are pleasant, trims seem far nicer than on the Almera hatch, and decent equipment levels will please. However, the ride isn't the world's smoothest, and both wind and road noise intrude at speed; in contrast, petrol engines are reasonably subdued, and although the diesel is gruff, it settles down at speed. Rear passengers will enjoy the fact that the middle rear seat folds into a table, even though drivers will be less impressed with the MPV-generic upright driving position. Taller and a little wider than the Almera, the Tino is perfectly spacious enough for a family of five, and a good deal of their luggage too. All seats, in the usual compact MPV manner, can be adjusted, slid and folded at will, meaning you can find good compromises for challenging loads. It looks great, the Tino's stereo, mounted within the equally-jazzy fascia both neatly and uniquely. The sound it produces isn't the greatest though, seeming a little 'muddy', and only the very poshest models offer a standard CD player.
