  • Road Test: Mercedes-Benz S-Class (2003-)
    Large Executive by: Farah AlKhalisi
    Mercedes Benz S-Class (03- )
    SAFETY AND SECURITY RATING:

Not only is the S-Class superbly strong and rigid, it is now even cleverer and can sense when it is going to crash - feedback from the ESP and brake sensors sets off preparatory pre-tensioning of the seat belts, closing of the sunroof and positioning of the seats to offer the occupants the maximum restraint and protection. If no accident occurs, the system resets itself. Standard safety kit also includes front and side airbags for front seat occupants, side airbags for rear seat passengers and windowbags and anti-skid reduction (ASR); security measures include a high-spec alarm and immobiliser and locking wheel bolts.
