In spite of question marks over quality, the A-Class still benefits from the aura afforded by that three-pointed badge. The A-Class also went a long way toward making the brand more youthful, less chairman-of-the-board, a trend supported by models such as the SLK coupe/convertible. The new A-Class, which is bigger in every direction, also looks like a more grown-up car than its cutesy predecessor. And if the quality of the A-Class lives up to the early promise, there could be an upgrade to five stars in its future.
