No Euro NCAP crash test results as yet, but the XJ's ultra-modern structure should offer excellent protection in the event of an impact. Intelligent dual-stage front airbags that sense the position of front seat occupants and the weight of the passenger, side 'bags, head 'bags and a particularly strong body structure all contribute, as do anti-whiplash, energy-absorbing seats. There is also a seatbelt reminder. Theft-prevention includes an immobiliser/transponder, an ultrasonic alarm, deadlocks and door frames designed to resist forced entry, while automatic door-locking over 5mph guards against car-jackers.
