The X-Type has a very different appeal to, say, a BMW 3-Series, but there's no question that this is an upmarket car from an upmarket brand. You couldn't call it cutting edge on the style front, and it has a distinctly conservative whiff to it, but it's undeniably desirable. The estate version is particularly posh, and crying out to be accessorised with a pair of black Labradors and a bootful of green wellies.
