Now that we've all got used to the throwback styling, the S-Type's appearance isn't the issue it was when the S-Type was launched. And, given the introduction of the X-Type, plus decent product placement in Bond films and the like, Jaguar's image is more lively and sporting than it was just a few years ago. The 'R' models certainly haven't done any harm, either. A modern Jag is more Austin Powers than Inspector Morse, although quite a few young people still find Jaguars a little bit stuffy.
