For: Looks the part, quality and comfort much-improved, great value for money, decent diesel.
Drawbacks
Copycat styling, no powerful engine options, poor four-speed auto gearbox.
Verdict
The new-look, larger, more refined Santa Fe is unlikely to steal any sales from the X5, XC90, Q7, Touareg or M-Class, but it makes a pretty good substitute purchase if your purse just won't stretch to any of the above.
