The new Accord is certainly a visual step ahead - it's far more distinctive than its predecessor and its wedgy profile, plunging front end and neat detailing lend it a welcome edge of aggression, sportiness and aerodynamic styling. That said, it still lacks real impact and a sense of design cohesion, though the Tourer makes a rather attractive - and roomy - load-lugger. The front end bears an uncanny resemblance to the Mazda 6's shovel-headed face, while the saloon's abruptly truncated rear doesn't seem linked to the aggressively plunging nose.
