  • Road Test: Ford Streetka (2003-)
    Convertibles by: Farah AlKhalisi
    Ford Streetka (03 - )
    SAFETY AND SECURITY RATING:

The rollover hoops give some protection in the event of an accident, though they're not as sophisticated as the automatically-activated examples in more expensive roadsters, and the Streetka's body has been thoroughly engineered for rigidity and strength. It has extra reinforcement over that of the Ka hatchback, though that isn't the most heavyweight small car around. Driver and passenger airbags are standard, with the passenger airbag having a deactivation switch should you wish to fasten in a child seat. ABS anti-lock brakes are standard in UK cars, and side airbags are optional, offered in the higher-spec Luxury version, which also has extra keycode security. All models have an alarm, remote central locking and locking alloy wheel bolts.
