With only 103 bhp on tap, the Zetec S will never compete with, say, the Renault Sport Clio, Peugeot 206 GTi or Seat Ibiza Cupra Sport. But viewed as a mid-range alternative, it compares well with the Clio RSi or 206 XSi. Out-and-out power's not really the point of this car, though what there is can be used to the full for maximum effect.
