As to be expected for a Ford, reasonable parts and servicing costs; the Zetec S promises 40.9 mpg fuel economy, and insurance will be relatively affordable compare to an all-out hot hatch. It should also hold its value well. There aren't that many on the market, and demand is reasonably high, so there aren't that many bargains. However, as it's not an XR2-style boy-racer Fiesta, finding an unabused example shouldn't be too difficult. The Zetec S is a lot of fun for £10,000-odd - wangle a discount and you'll be laughing. However, it would feel a lot better value if it had a properly sporting cabin with all the trimmings, and if the whole design and concept was less dated. This generation of Fiestas has its roots back in the late 80s, and it shows - remembering that makes the price seem less appealing.
