| COMFORT AND EQUIPMENT RATING: |

Apart from the cramped rear conditions, the Zetec S is relatively civilised. The ride, unsurprisingly, is on the hard side, but that goes with the sporting territory. It's reasonably quiet, though the ambience is spoilt by the cheap, dated cabin and the flat, unsupportive "sports" seats. Front seat occupants will be happy enough (unless they're particularly tall) but the rear's too cramped for all except small children; boot space and storage facilities are merely adequate. The RDS-enabled system fitted is of decent quality, and a CD player is fitted as standard.
