  • Road Test: Daihatsu Sirion (1998-2005)
    Superminis
    Daihatsu Sirion (98- )
    PERFORMANCE RATING:

The little 1.0-litre engine needs to be revved hard, but it's responsive enough for nipping around town, and many will find its distinctive throb appealing. At sustained motorway speeds it's less enthusiastic, though, running out of puff quite quickly, so heavy loads, a full complement of passengers and steep hills will all take their toll. The 1.3-litre is a better all-rounder, though it's still no hot hatch, even in Rally 2 or Rally 4 (four-wheel drive) form.
