  • Road Test: Daihatsu Sirion (1998-2005)
    Superminis
    Daihatsu Sirion (98- )
    DRIVING RATING:

Very agile and obedient, the Sirion is also supremely easy to manoeuvre and park, though most will find the driving position too high. The Sirion shines in its user-friendliness, so expect to see it on driving school fleets - it's ideal for learners or the nervous. The F-Speed automatic gearbox does its job well too - it's not the most sophisticated small auto around, but it's easy to use and not too jerky or slow to react. Not completely unsporty, the sharp handling and excellent stability providing more than a passing impression of dynamism, aided by the eager, if occasionally overwhelmed, engine.
