A three-star score in the Euro-NCAP tests is reasonable, as is an above-average two-star pedestrian safety rating. ABS anti-lock brakes with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) are standard on all models, along with twin front and side airbags; 'curtain' airbags and ESP are offered as a cost option pack. All three rear seats have a three-point seatbelt, and there are ISOFIX child seat attachment points. A parking sensor is available, while deadlocks and an immobiliser are also part of the kit. SX and VTS models have an alarm (an option on the VTR).
