  • Road Test: Citroen Saxo (1996-2002)
    City Cars
    Citroen Saxo (96-02)
    SAFETY AND SECURITY RATING:

Rated at the 'lower end' of the supermini sector by NCAP - it achieves two stars and a 38% rating. Not brilliant, but it is a small, quite aged car. On the positive side, child restraint is comparatively good. Passenger airbag and anti-lock brakes are optional, doors have sophisticated side-impact protection at the expense of storage space. An immobiliser is standard. Five-door models have an indicator to show if the rear doors' child locks are engaged.
