The Synergie was often home to many rattles after a lot of miles. The C8 is more solid-feeling, thanks to a structure 30 percent more twist-resistant than before, but some rattles still escape over lumpy road surfaces. However, the trim components are well made and firmly attached, while fabric screen pillars and padded surfaces give a welcome impression of quality. This is Citroen's best-designed and best-finished interior for quite a while. The controls operate with precision, too, apart from the gearchange. Multiplex electrics should help the reliability of the many complex electrical systems, and they seem to have proved dependable in other recent Citroens.
