Both engines are frugal, with even the petrol returning 61.4mpg on the combined cycle. Carbon dioxide emissions are understandably modest, at 109g/km, so road tax or benefit-in-kind company car duties are minimal. Insurance groupings are in the lowest possible band, too. The C1's low initial price won't be badly knocked by depreciation compared to some rivals, we reckon, though of the three sister models, the Toyota stands to keep more of its value over time. Parts and repairs should be exceptionally cheap.
