It's an image under construction, really, as the buying public gets used to a new-look Chrysler in a new-to-the-company market segment. Its styling certainly draws admiring glances, and the lavish detailing stops just short of excess. Purists may scoff at the Crossfire's shallow pedigree, pointing out that the Americana is all on the surface, but in a world of fashion objects (such as coupes and convertibles) this won't trouble most buyers.
