So long as there's only two of you the TT is as comfortable as you can expect a sporting car to be. The firm seats provide good support, the cabin is spacious enough and there's always the rear seats (in the coupe) for keeping stuff out of your way, though note that the bucket-style Recaros in the 240bhp Quattro Sport are not for the faint-hearted - they're rigid, difficult to get in and out of, and tiresome on long journeys. The ventilation system is good, however, keeping you cool; the ride, although firm, is compliant on the UK's pock-marked and pothole-strewn roads. Wind noise is low, even in the roadster, and there's that wonderful dashboard to look at too when you're stuck in traffic. You simply don't buy cars like the TT if interior space is high on your list of priorities. However, in coupe form it's surprisingly useable. OK, the rear seats are next to useless for passengers and leg and headroom in the back is pretty dismal, but there is some luggage room and the seats do fold for longer loads. The hatchback boot too, is surprisingly useful, despite being so shallow. Chopping the roof off removes the useful hatchback and the rear seats in the roadster; its bootspace suffers as a result of the hood mechanism. The cabin can feel a touch claustrophobic in either the coupe or the roadster, more as a result of the dark plastics used than any real lack of space up front. The standard stereo package is decent enough, a cassette head unit with preparation for an optional six-disc changer. A single-slot in-dash CD player adds £200 to the price of your TT, a six-disc system costing £400. The sound quality of the standard set up is good, but if you want to enjoy your tunes to maximum effect, then the brilliant Bose system is a must - even at £450. Sat-nav too is a cost option at £1,300. It's a good system, but unless you're the type of person who's constantly lost then there's surely better things you can find to spend £1,300 on...
