Aston claims the V8 Vantage will return 16.2mpg on the combined cycle though the temptation to snap the V8’s throttles wide open at the slightest opportunity is so great many owners may struggle to achieve even this. That said, anyone lucky enough to receive their Vantage in the next few months should be able to sell their car at such a premium over list that even such eye-opening consumption will be seen as nothing. Certainly they could reasonably expect what would be in effect a year’s free Aston motoring, though of course that would involve selling the car, which many may find a far from palatable choice.
