Renault has delayed a decision on its future participation in Formula One but says it will make an announcement before the end of the year.
The French manufacturer had an extraordinary meeting on Thursday to decide whether it would continue to run a team in the pinnacle of motorsport, pull out altogether or continue as an engine supplier only.
After the meeting Renault Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn did not give any indication which way the French car maker would be heading.
'You will have to be patient,' Ghosn said. 'We will make an announcement on our participation in Formula 1 before the end of the year.'
Renault is, together with Ferrari, the only full manufacturer team left in Formula 1. On Thursday Toyota announced that it would be quitting the sport from immediate effect and that following the exits of Honda and BMW over the last 12 months.
