Toyota has announced it is quitting F1 and will not compete in the 2010 season.
The company blames 'the current severe economic realities' for its decision to quit the sport after 139 races and seven years. It follows Toyota releasing its worst ever set of figures for a financial year.
Toyota's 2009 season had many highlights which included Jarno Trulli finishing third in the opening race in Australia and Timo Glock scoring an excellent second place behind Lewis Hamilton in the Singapore GP.
Toyota's decision to leave means that there will be no Japanese team in Formula One from next year.
Tyre maker Bridgestone has also announced it will also leave F1 when its contract expires at the end of 2010.
