Audi Q3
Production of Audi's smallest SUV, the BMW X1-rivalling Q3, will start in 2011.
The new car will be be built at a Seat site in Martorell, Spain, and the German carmaker said it will invest around $390 million at the plant to ensure it can reach its production target of 80,000 Q3s a year.
Audi describes the Q3 as a 'coupelike' five-door SUV with seat positions, wheel size and ground clearance characteristic of a typical SUV.'
It will look much like Audi's 2007 Cross Coupe concept cars, and three-door and five-door variants are expected. It will probably use the same platform as the Audi A3 hatch and engines will include a 2.0-litre TFSI engine, a 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 and a 3.6-litre FSI V6.
