If you expected the Citroen DS Concept car to look anything like the classic DS of the 1950s, then think again.
Citroen tells us its latest concept, the called the DS Inside, gives a flavour of what's to come but there's still a lot of work to do on a production version. A spokesman said: 'It'll be a year before we see the final version.'
The Inside represents the start of major rebranding at Citroen which is promising new design, models and better service. The 'DS' badge will be used on premium models within the brand and three are already the pipeline: the DS3, DS4 and DS5. The DS3 will arrive in early 2010 and the other two will come a year later.
This is a part of major product offensive by Citroen. The French company has also announced that it will be launching brand new models at the rate of one every six months for at least the next three years.
Xavier Duchemin, Managing Director of Citroen, said: 'At a time when some are postponing or cancelling future models, it is very exciting for us and our potential customers to see that Citroen is looking forward positively to when the current, undeniably tough, times are over. Our display at Geneva showcases what is to come.'
