The top came off Fiat's stand at Geneva with the unveiling of the open-top version of the 500.
Called the 500C, it pays homage to the open-top 1957 model with its electrically operated soft-top that folds all the way to the boot of the car.
The soft-top is available in three colours (ivory, red and black) and this original soft top will be matched with several body colours, two of which (red and grey) have been conceived specifically for the new car.
The soft-top, when folded down, offers an unrestricted window to the sky, however, there have been no other major changes to the car. The 500C is exactly the same size as the basic model and uses the same three engines: a 1.3-litre 75bhp diesel and 1.2-litre 69bhp and 1.4- litre 100bhp petrol engines.
The new 500C also includes Fiat's new Start&Stop system.
