Cadillac's new-generation five-seat SRX crossover will come with an all-new direct-injection, E85-compatible 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine or a turbocharged 2.8 V6 petrol.
Both power units promise improved fuel economy compared to the engines in the outgoing SRX and the 3.0-litre develops 260bhp.
Now a five-seater (the outgoing model came with an extra pair of rear seats, though these were small and impractical) the SRX is available with kit including a pop-up sat nav screen, adaptive forward lighting, a powered tailgate, standard Bluetooth integration, rear entertainment screens and a hard-drive audio system, plus safety items such as head-protecting curtain airbags, rollover sensors, trailer stability assist and front seatbelt pre-tensioners. All-wheel-drive, with an electronic torque-distributing limited-slip differential, is optional.
Options also include 20" alloy wheels. The SRX will arrive in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2009, though right-hand-drive versions may not be offered.
