Nissan Cube
Nissan has revealed its third-generation Cube mini-MPV. On sale in Japan later this month and Europe next autumn, the latest Cube is roomier than its predecessors but remains compact, at less than 4m long.
Features include a full-length glass roof panel, sofa-style seating and plenty of new standard equipment. Space has also been a chief priority, the front seat now slides further and can be raised by up to 60mm, and the front door openings are higher, giving easier entry and exit, while headroom has been improved.
Meanwhile, the Cube remains little changed in its styling but the body structure is now more rigid while the suspension has been tweaked to improve the drive. A new 1.5-litre petrol engine is introduced to the range with the option of electronic four-wheel-drive system and CVT gearbox.
Nissan has now sold nearly one million Cubes since the launch of the original in 1998. The new range will eventually include an electric version, as suggested by the Denki Cube concept car.
