Infiniti will offer a completely new model in 2010 called the 'M', which will rival the BMW 5-Series saloon.
The luxury Japanese brand is already planning its entry into the UK with the FX50, FX37, EX37 SUVs and G37 Coupe. These models go on sale in mid-2009, initially in petrol-only form. Beyond that the G37 Convertible arrives in the UK late 2009, with the M launching the following year.
Infiniti's UK sales targets are modest - the company is hoping to set around 7,000 cars each year. The emphasis is on offering a personal service, offering a recovery service that covers the driver and not the car.
An Infiniti spokesman told 4Car: 'It is unlike any other service - it covers the individual so that if, let's say you are an Infiniti owner and you are out with friends in a BMW and it breaks down, we will come out and collect you and arrange for the car to be recovered. If you require an overnight stay we will arrange that and arrange for business class transportation home.'
