Video: Saab 9-X Air
The 9-X Air is another foretaste of Saab's upcoming '9-1' or '9-2' model, a rival for the likes of the Golf and Audi A3.
It shows off Saab's latest thinking on convertible design, with a clever folding roof mechanism that collapses and folds inwards at the touch of a button to give a speedster-style outline.
The 9-X Air features a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine with hybrid system, an ethanol-compatible powertrain to feature soon in upcoming production cars. The concept itself is a clear hint at Saab's small family hatch and, indeed, the ultimate replacement for the current 9-3 Cabriolet.
