Fisker Automotive is planning a four-model range of plug-in hybrids.
First up is the Karma super-saloon, on sale next year, and Fisker is now hoping to develop a coupe, a convertible and even an SUV around the same basic underpinnings and powertrain.
Fisker board member Vic Doolan said this week that the three models are scheduled for launch by 2012, and that by 2011, the company - headed by former Aston Martin designer Henrik Fisker - intends build 15,000 cars a year. It is also considering production in the US, though initially, the Karma will be assembled by Valmet in Finland.
Further down the line, Fisker is considering a more accessible plug-in hybrid vehicle, to be priced around $60,000.
