These are the official pictures of the next-generation Ford Ka which is due to be unveiled at the Paris Motor in October.
Ford says the new model will take centre stage on its stand and promises 'new levels of style and enjoyment to affordable city cars'.
It is 12 years since the original Ka and Ford designers have given it a totally new look even though a number of visual cues provide a connection to the original Ka. The interior of the new Ka has also had a refresh combining dynamic design and bold colours.
The original car was launched in Paris in 1996 and was praised for its exciting styling. Throughout its 12-year life the Ka has been popular among small-car buyers: in total, Ka production has exceeded 1.4 million vehicles.
'We are very excited about the launch of the new Ka,' said Roelant de Waard, Chairman and Managing Director, Ford of Britain. 'The original has been a huge hit in the UK with a sales record of over 480,000 -80% of which have been to retail customers, and many of those first-time buyers. I'm confident that the latest design will prove just as big a hit.'
