Video: Nice at the British Motor Show
The Nice MyCar - a rival for the G-Wiz - two-seat electric city car is on show at the British Motor Show.
On sale this autumn, prices for the MyCar start from £8,995, including a two-year warranty.
Styled by the Giugiaro design studio and built in Hong Kong, the MyCar can do 40mph, and around 40 miles between recharges. A recharge takes six to eight hours.
The MyCar is built around a steel tubular spaceframe, with fibreglass-reinforced plastic panels, a roll bar, disc brakes and all-round independent suspension. There are small storage spaces under the bonnet and in the rear boot compartment.
Standard equipment includes electric windows and mirrors, a radio/MP3 player, 14" alloy wheels, remote central locking, and an LCD display; further options include 15" alloys, cooled/heated seats, a boot rack and even a leather interior, as well as a glass roof or a removable fibreglass roof panel. A Work pack comprises a forward-folding passenger seat and laptop dock; the Drive pack includes Bluetooth phone connectivity, sat nav and an upgraded audio system. There's a choice of seven paint colours.
Also on the stand is Nice's Chinese-built Ze-O mini-MPV (from £13,995), an updated version of the Aixam Mega City (from £11,500, with a £500 discount on orders placed 22 July-15 August), an electric Fiat Doblo with extended range and two concepts - an electric Fiat 500 by Micro-Vett, for 'gauging interest', and a Super Light Concept research vehicle from a project with Cranfield University.
