The Mastretta MXT, claimed to be the first-ever car designed and built in Mexico, is making its debut in London at the British Motor Show.
It's a 900kg lightweight sports coupe, with a 2.0-litre Ford Duratec engine driving its rear wheels to offer nearly 240bhp and 184lb-ft, a top speed of 150mph and 0-60mph in less than five seconds.
Constructed around a semi-monocoque chassis of bonded aluminium, the MXT has fibreglass body panels and double-wishbone suspension front and rear. It has a quick-ratio steering rack, ventilated disc brakes and ABS, plus a leather-trimmed interior.
The MXT will be distributed in the UK by Lifestyle Automotive, with full production is to start in January 2009. First UK deliveries are scheduled for next May and prices start from £32,999.
