Mini has confirmed details of the John Cooper Works Tuning Kit for the Cooper S.
The kit, developed by John Cooper Works for BMW, consists of a sports exhaust system, a sports air filter and modified engine management system. Power from the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine is upped to 192bhp, with torque raised to 184lb-ft; when the temporary overboost function kicks in at 1,750-4,500rpm, it can deliver up to 199lb-ft.
A series of new JCW-developed options is also on offer with the Cooper S: a sports suspension system which lowers the ride height by 10mm, a body kit (front and rear apron spoilers, side sills), perforated front brake discs and 18" double-spoke alloy wheels, as well as JCW sports seats, a JCW steering wheel and selected carbon-fibre/plastic components. The Mini accessory range has also expanded and now includes a single-piece roof spoiler, new roof decals including an 'H' motif, illuminated entry sills with lettering, additional headlamps, an iPod-compatible stereo and a series of roof boxes and carrier systems.
