EDAG LUV
EDAG Engineering and Design is getting nautical at this year's Geneva motor show with its LUV, a 'luxury utility vehicle' concept car aimed at the yacht-owning classes.
In essence a very well-appointed pick-up truck, its rear load bay is covered in teak, like a boat deck, and it's finished with maritime detailing such as retractable clamps to secure loads on the deck. Appropriately, its name also refers to the German for 'luff' or sailing close to the wind.
The LUV is an immense 5.7m long, over 2m wide and 1.8m high, so should be more than capable of towing a boat trailer. It has two rows of seats to take all the family down to the yacht club, too. Based on an unnamed production SUV, it is economically feasible to make, and EDAG says that it is 'currently in close contact with prestigious vehicle customising companies, looking into the possibility of a potential launch.'
