Honda's main story at the Frankfurt Motor Show will be the all-new Civic, already extensively previewed, and the Civic Hybrid will also make its debut. Honda has now confirmed that it is to bring a "European Legend Prototype" to the show too effectively a version of the latest-generation Legend top-end saloon already launched in Japan and the US, designed to test demand for such a vehicle in Europe.
Honda has confirmed revisions to the S2000 roadster for 2006; it gains a drive-by-wire throttle and the options of a new hard top or a speedster cover, with a pair of raised domes behind the headrests; two new paint colours are offered, burgundy metallic and pearlescent blue, and a new 60-watt audio system is optional. The Accord range is also to receive a minor facelift, plus the new option of adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning systems.
Keen to impress its eco-friendly credentials upon journalists attending the Frankfurt Show, Honda said today that it is to give away 200 press information packs with a unique appeal they will be edible. Whilst most of the hand-outs, glossy brochures and forests-worth of publicity material given out at the show end up in the bin (the recycling bin, at the 4car office), the Honda kit may at least have some use after the reports are written. We'll let you know how it tastes. More tantalisingly, Honda dealers are to give away a box of Green and Blacks chocolates to each customer buying a new car, along with details of how to sign up to the Carbon Neutral tree-planting scheme to which Honda subscribes.
