Four Chinese car-makers are to exhibit at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month - though neither Nanjing Automotive, the new owners of MG Rover, nor rivals SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) will be putting on a display.
Jiangling Motors Corporation, which manufactures in partnership with Ford, is to show a 4x4 based on the old Vauxhall/Opel Frontera, sold via a company called Landwind Europe. The Landwind SUV is already on sale in the Netherlands, and a large MPV called CV9 is to follow next year. Geely Motors is to show a small saloon called Free Cruiser, small family-sized saloons badged FC and M303H, a small family hatchback called Haoging and a sports car charmingly called the CD, or Chinese Dragon. Geely has recently signed a deal with a Lisbon-based importer to distribute these cars in Spain and Portugal, and is looking for partners to sell them in other European countries. Finally, the Brilliance Jinbei Automobile Co. - a partner to BMW in its Chinese operations - will show the Zhonghua large saloon, to be distributed by Euro Motors. (Automotive News).
