Peugeot has released its first official pictures of the 407 Coupe, in advance of its formal unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. To go on sale in the UK in January 2006, the Coupe is, like its 406 predecessor, a full four-seater with a large boot. From launch, it will be offered with 2.2-litre, 160 bhp and 3.0-litre V6, 211 bhp petrol engines, or the 2.7 V6 HDI diesel (205 bhp), as also used in the Jaguar XJ range. All 407 Coupes will come with a six-speed gearbox - manual or automatic - and safety equipment including seven airbags, traction control and active front head restraints. More details of specification and pricing will be announced at Frankfurt.
