SsangYong has revealed its new large 4x4, the Kyron, in South Korea. The Kyron, successor to the Musso, comes with a Mercedes-sourced 2.7-litre diesel engine (176 bhp), with a 2.0-litre petrol unit to be offered later; it is the production version of the SV-R concept unveiled at the Seoul Motor Show earlier this year. It is built on a version of the Rexton's platform, and is 4.66m long with a wheelbase of 2740mm; standard kit in Korea includes a DVD player, rear parking sensors, Hill Descent Control and electronic stability programme. It will be launched in Europe at the Frankfurt Motor Show (September), and SsangYong is also considering exports to the USA.
