Audi has launched entry-level versions of its A6 saloon and Avant (estate), powered by a 2.0-litre, turbocharged, FSI direct-injection engine.
The engine develops 168bhp at 4,300-6,000rpm, and 206lb ft of torque from 1,800-4,200rpm. Nought to 62mph takes a claimed 8.4 seconds (Avant 8.7), and top speed is 141mph (Avant 138mph). Fuel consumption is 34.4mpg on the combined cycle, with CO2 emissions of 197g/km.
Available in SE or S-line trim, the new A6 variants will cost from £24,340 (saloon) and £25,910 (Avant), with deliveries starting in July. Standard equipment mirrors the 2.4 V6, including electric windows all-round, climate control, automatic lights/wipers, 10-speaker CD player, cruise control and a basic version of the Multi Media Interface. S-line trim adds 18-inch alloys, part-leather seats and sports suspension.
