Subaru Forester 2.5 XT
Subaru's 208bhp Forester XT will cost £24,695 when it goes on sale this autumn. Powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged boxer engine, the 2.5 XT will be the flagship model of the Forester range. Available only as manual, it will reach 60mph from standstill in just six seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 140mph. Visual differences over regular Foresters include 12-spoke alloy wheels, aluminium kick-plates, a smaller MOMO steering wheel and leather sports seats.
The rest of the Forester range has been given a freshen-up for 2005, too. New alloy wheels, revised air-con controls, an upgraded stereo with six-CD changer feature on the 175bhp 2.0-litre XT model. The base 124bhp 2.0-litre Forester X gets new cloth covering on the seats, and the All-Weather-Pack gains an upgraded stereo system.
Prices for the '05 Forester range start at £16,445 for the 2.0 X with the 2.0 X 'All-Weather-Pack' costing £18,745. The Forester 2.0 XT is available from £20,995 for the manual, cloth-trimmed model.
