Audi is launching S-Line versions of the A6 saloon, which it says are "the latest and most driver-focused versions to date". With suspension lowered by 30mm, unique 18-inch five-arm alloy wheels, uprated brakes and interior modifications (front sports seats with electrically-adjustable lumbar support, S-Line logos, black cloth upholstery, S-Line brushed aluminium facia details, leather-covered steering wheel and black cloth headlining), these versions look the part, and are offered with all the V6 and V8 engines currently available in the mainstream A6 line-up. Diesel versions, a 140bhp 2.0 TDI and 177bhp 2.7 TDI, will follow on sale in December. Prices start from £27,145 (2.4 V6 petrol) and go up to £44,485 (4.2 V8 quattro). Options unique to S-Line models include a redesigned sports bumper with automatic headlamp washers, S-Line front grille design with S emblem and special rear bumper with body-coloured lower diffuser (£1000, or £875 on 4.2 quattro models).
