Audi has replaced the A4's entry-level 100bhp 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine with a 115bhp variant - and reduced base prices by around £500. The £19,840 1.9 TDI is nearly a second faster that the outgoing car to 60mph, at 11.2sec, and can crack 124mph (previously 119mph). Fuel consumption is up slightly compared to the 100bhp TDI, though, at 49.5mpg on the combined cycle - Audi says you'll get 745 miles on a tank of fuel. The 1.9 also meets the Euro IV emissions requirements, so is exempt from the 3 percent company car tax duty. Orders can be taken now, but first deliveries will arrive in June.
