Volvo XC90
The Volvo XC90 4x4, XC70 and V70 D5 AWD are all now available with the 163bhp 2.4-litre, five-cylinder D5 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. Previously, only the Geartronic auto was on offer. The manual versions are both cheaper and more fuel-efficient than their auto equivalents, and incur a lower rate of company car tax. The V70 D5 AWD (from £25,178) has a top speed of 130mph, accelerates 0-60mph in 10.3 seconds and returns 37.7mpg and 198g/km of carbon dioxide. The XC70 D5 (from £27,398) does 124mph, 0-60 in 10.5 seconds, 37.2mpg and 202g/km, and the XC90 D5 (from £30,133) does 115mph, 0-60 in 12.2 seconds, 34mpg and 219g/km.
