Fast company : The R36's power output and the choice of saloon and estate, puts it in a niche currently occupied only by the 3.2-litre Q4 version of the Alfa Romeo 159 and 159 Sportwagon, which makes 260bhp and costs around £30,000. It's much more driver-orientated than the Honda Accord, but far less powerful than Audi's smaller all-wheel-drive S4, let alone the RS4.
